AI Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

This policy explains how LessonBase does and does not use artificial intelligence. It is published before we build any AI feature, on purpose: a commitment made in advance is worth more than a description written afterwards.

1. What we use today: nothing

LessonBase currently uses no artificial intelligence or machine learning. There is no model making decisions about students, no automated scoring of progress, no generated lesson notes, and no data sent to any AI provider. If that changes, this page changes first, with a dated note saying what changed.

2. What we will never do

These are commitments, not current descriptions. They apply regardless of what we build later:

3. If we add AI features

Any AI feature will be opt-in for the teacher, clearly labelled where it appears, and documented here — naming the provider, what is sent, and what is retained. A teacher will always be able to use LessonBase fully without it.

4. De-identified data, and how to opt out

We may study de-identified, aggregated usage patterns to improve the product — for example, how often make-up lessons are rescheduled across all studios. De-identified means names, contact details, lesson notes, and anything identifying a child or a studio are removed first, and the result is reported only in aggregate across many studios.

We do not sell this data. If we ever publish research based on it, it will be aggregate findings, never records.

A studio owner may opt out of having their studio's activity included in this analysis at any time by emailing support@lessonbase.app. Opting out does not change anything else about the Service.

5. AI used to build LessonBase

LessonBase's source code is written with the help of AI coding tools. This is disclosed because it is true, not because it affects your data: those tools operate on source code, not on your studio's database. No customer data, student information, or lesson content is provided to them.

6. Questions

Email support@lessonbase.app. If a commitment on this page is ever broken, we would rather hear about it from you than not.
